Temporary Paint Booth  April 11, 2012 – 07:50 pm
Professional quality vehicle and aircraft painting require professional equipment and expertise. I have none of those with the exception of an insanely expensive Iwata sprayer. Nonetheless, a reasonably useful temporary paint booth can be made of plastic drop sheets as can be seen here. You will have 3 objectives: First to keep the dust and dirt out, second to adequately light and third to correctly heat. In my case a 2x4 frame is suspended from the rafter and the plastic taped over the top and around the sides. The sides are simply held down by long 2x4s. At one corner a furnace filter is taped in place and heater/blower aimed into the space to provide minimum heat and a positive air pressure. 2 additional heaters are used inside the booth to set the correct temperature for the 2 part urethane paint system I am using. I hung 4 fluorescent shop lights on the sides and use a combination of halogen and fluorescent along the length of the item to be painted.
What I discovered is that colors apply perfectly in just 2 coats which saves a bit of weight. But the white is translucent enough that it doesn't appear to cover much of anything on

    I have a booth at the local Saturday Market where I do face painting and finger nail art. I have decided to make it an official business and do parties and those sorts of things. Do you have any ideas for names for my business? My main customers are children aged 3-11.
