Paintball Fest participant

Dominica’s first “Paintball”  park will open its doors this month at Palm Grove.

That’s according to the organizers of the recently-held first ever Paintball Fest in Dominica.

Online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, defines Paintball as “an extreme sport in which players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by tagging them with capsules containing water soluble dye and gelatin shell outside (referred to as paintballs) propelled from a device called a paintball marker (commonly referred to as a paintball gun).

Organizer of the Paintball Fest, held over the week-end at the Pottersville Savannah, is Atherly Jose Sandy of Jean Bois Exptreme Sports.

He says he is generally satisfied with the way the event went and plans to make it an annual affair.

He points out that paintball games, however, have been taking place for a while now on Sundays in various places such as Mero and Batali beaches and will very soon be launched in Portsmouth.

Sandy adds that the group has been raising funds to set up the Paintball park at Palm Grove.
